Two men (30s) die in separate road incidents in Kildare and Galway

The road remains closed to allow specialist gardaí attend the scene and carry out a forensic examination of the road.

TWO MEN AGED in their 30s have died in separate road incidents.

One incident, which occurred yesterday, saw a man die after a he was struck by a bus on the N7 motorway in Kill, Co Kildare.

In a separate incident, a man has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Co Galway overnight.

Gardaí are investigating the fatal road traffic incident that occurred at approximately 3.30pm yesterday.

The collision occurred between junction 8 and junction 7 eastbound on the N7.

The road remains closed to allow specialist gardaí attend the scene and carry out a forensic examination of the road.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said the male pedestrian was seriously injured and taken to Tallaght University Hospital.

The man later passed away yesterday evening. A post mortem will take place in due course.

The male driver of the bus – aged in his 30s – of the bus was uninjured and two passengers received non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Gardaí are also appealing for any witnesses and for any road users who may have camera footage – including dash-cam – who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to Gardaí.

Tuam road death

In the most recent and separate incident, a man in his 30s has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Lavally, Tuam, Co Galway overnight.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene and was the sole occupant of the car.

The single-vehicle incident occurred on the L2107 at Cappadavock, at approximately 4:30am.

The coroner has been notified and the deceased has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged.

The road remains closed at the scene, which is preserved pending a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
