Subaru Impreza

The new Subaru Impreza has landed in Ireland

Prices start from €25,995 for the compact hatch.

THIS IS THE newly redesigned Impreza, Subaru’s compact hatch.

This fifth-generation retains the core attributes of the previous Impreza: the all-wheel-drive traction, the traditional ‘boxer’ engine and impeccable safety and reliability.

The Impreza sits on the new Subaru Global Platform, which will underpin all future Subaru products. The new platform allows the body of the new Impreza to be bigger than the old model, with a 5mm lower centre of gravity, as well as being stronger and much more rigid in torsion. That means it’s extremely tough and exceptionally safe. In fact, the Impreza recorded the highest-ever NCAP safety marks awarded to a car in crash tests conducted in its native Japan.

The new Impreza is offered with just one engine in Ireland, a 114hp 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit mated to Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive and ‘Lineartronic’ continuously variable transmission (CVT). It also has Active Torque Vectoring to help with turning and steering performance.

The Impreza is offered in two trim levels – S and SE.

S models are equipped as standard with heated front seats, auto air conditioning, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system incorporating audio and smartphone connectivity.

EyeSight, Subaru’s driver assist technology, also comes as standard. It includes features such as Pre-Collision Braking Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keep Assist function.

SE models builds on the standard spec and come with 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, hi-beam assist, automatic LED headlamps and headlamp washers, keyless entry, push-button start, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a rear-view parking camera.

Prices start at €25,995 for S models and €29,995 for SE models.
