• Foul play has been ruled out in the case of a young mother who was found dead in “unexplained circumstances” in Cork yesterday evening, with gardaí satisfied her death was the result of an accident.
• The HSE said it is “reviewing” the circumstances surrounding its failure to suspend a doctor at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) after it was initially made aware he had raped a nurse who was also working at the hospital.
• A three-year-old boy who died after he was struck by a car in a shopping centre’s car park has been named locally as Noah Sikora.
• A man in his 80s died from the injuries he sustained after being struck by a bus in Co Wicklow earlier this week.
• Close to 60 people have been arrested so far during the St Patrick’s weekend garda roads policing operation.
• Taoiseach Micheál Martin said Ireland “abhors the killing of innocent civilians”, stating that he will be articulating the need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in the Middle East when he meets US President Donald Trump on St Patrick’s Day.
