President Michael D Higgins has this evening said: “Europe will find it very difficult to repair the damage that has been done by a lethargic response that has tolerated impunity.”

In a short statement from President Higgins, he express dissatisfaction with European leaders on their use of language to describe their opinions on Israel’s actions in Gaza and referenced how over 200 journalists have been killed.

In Dublin tonight, reporters from across the country gathered to voice their opposition to the murder of their Palestinian colleagues. Members of the National Union of Journalists in Ireland read out the names of Palestinians who have been killed during the conflict.
