AS ONLINE GROCERY shopping becomes more common in Irish homes, many delivery platforms have expanded their services in response to demand.
Last week, Deliveroo announced a new feature that allows customers to order from up to three shops at once while paying a single delivery fee. The delivery service mainly works with smaller convenience retailers such as Spar and Centra.
Ireland’s three biggest supermarket chains – Dunnes Stores, Tesco and SuperValu – already operate their own delivery services, with fees ranging from €4 to €8 and delivery slots often needing to be booked further in advance.
Some also offer click-and-collect services for customers, which are often free of charge.
