A MAN IN his 30s was killed at lunchtime today when the motorcycle he was travelling on collided with a lorry.
The incident occurred at Park West in Dublin 12 at about 12.45pm. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
The stretch of road is currently closed, pending completion of an examination by forensic investigators. Local diversions are in place.
An appeal for witnesses has been issued by gardaí and anyone with information is asked to call the local station on 01 666 7600.
The victim is the third motorcyclist to die on Irish roads this year. Since 1 January, 42 people have been killed in road incidents.
