Poll: Should Leaving Cert Irish still be compulsory?

Is it time Irish was made optional in the Leaving Cert, or do you think that would be the death-knell of the language?

FINE GAEL’s James Reilly this morning repeated the promise by Fine Gael that if it gets elected, Irish will no longer be compulsory in the Leaving Cert.

What do you think of this proposal? Is it time Irish was made optional in the Leaving Cert, or do you think that would be the death-knell of the language?

Should Leaving Cert Irish still be compulsory? Have your say.

Poll Results:

Yes: it should be compulsory (2800)
No: it should be optional (1342)
