Man arrested after Garda chase in Dublin

A firearm was recovered during the operation.

A GARDA PURSUIT last night resulted in the discovery of a firearm and the arrest of a 25-year-old man.

At about 10.15pm, Gardaí from Rathfarnham attempted to stop a car at Daltree Place in Ballycullen, Dublin 24 but during the course of the operation, the Audi vehicle rammed the patrol car.

The three occupants of the Audi then fled the scene and were pursued by Gardaí.

A 25-year-old was arrested a short time later and a firearm recovered. The man is being detained at Rathfarnham Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

A Garda spokesperson said a number of lines of inquiry are being looked at.
