GARDAÍ IN NORTH Dublin have issued an appeal for witnesses to a cash-in-transit robbery that took place yesterday morning.
At around 11.30am yesterday, the cash-in-transit van pulled up outside the Eurospar shop at the Bayside shopping centre in north Dublin.
As an employee left the van with a cash box, he was approached by one man who threatened him with a gun.
This man was wearing a grey tracksuit top and bottoms, with his hood pulled up and was wearing a black ski mask.
He left the scene with the cash box, and fled in a waiting black Opel Vectra.
This car was later found in the front carpark of Bayside Train Station.
It is believed that suspects left on foot via the tunnel underpass to Seacliff Drive, where a second car may have been waiting.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in and around Bayside shopping centre, Bayside Dart Station and Seacliffe Drive areas yesterday morning before and after the robbery.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Raheny Garda Station on 01 666 4300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
