Setanta policyholders advised to get new insurance

A liquidator has now been appointed to the company.

SETANTA POLICYHOLDERS ARE being advised to arrange new motor insurance after a liquidator was appointed to the insurance company.

The company collapsed earlier this month and a liquidator was appointed yesterday.

On its website, the company said it has reached a conclusion that a “solvent run-off is no longer possible”.

The Central Bank announced the liquidator will now be responsible for the administration of the company’s assets and liabilities.

Insurance Ireland CEO, Kevin Thompson, said “while Setanta is regulated by the Maltese authorities and is not an Insurance Ireland member, Insurance Ireland members will make every effort to assist Setanta policyholders.

Our advice to Setanta policyholders is that they should arrange new motor insurance immediately.
