Man dragged into alleyway and shot twice in each leg in paramilitary style attack

It happened in the Bread Street area of Belfast city shortly after 9pm.

A MAN IS being treated in hospital after being dragged into an alleyway and shot twice in each leg in a paramilitary style attack in Belfast last night.

Police received reports of the shooting in the Bread Street area of the city shortly after 9pm.

Two men were involved in the attack, they were dressed in black and it’s believed they made off in the direction of the Divis estate.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Inspector Michelle Griffin would appeal to anyone who has information about this incident to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1320 29/09/16.

Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
