AS IT MARKS its 20th anniversary, Spotify has given its users a chance to revisit their entire listening history.
This week, the streaming giant launched Your Party of the Years, which is similar to its Wrapped campaign – but instead of reviewing a single year, it looks back at a user’s time on the platform.
Listeners have been able to see the first song they played on the app alongside their most streamed artists and songs over the years.
It comes shortly after Spotify shared its all-time streaming figures since 2006, with Taylor Swift (perhaps unsurprisingly) ranking as its most-streamed artist.
Spotify first launched in Ireland in 2012. Last month, it increased prices across all of its subscription tiers – with some plans rising by just over 8%.
Emma Howard, an economics lecturer at TU Dublin, told the Claire Byrne Show that over half of Spotify users don’t pay for a subscription. Streaming for free limits skips and includes ads between songs.
She added that Spotify users have an average daily listening time of 148 minutes, with one in five using the app multiple times a day.
With streaming now a daily habit for many people, we wanted to ask about how you choose to listen to music.
So, tell us: are you subscribed to any music streaming services?
