Weekend

When will we see lovely weather like yesterday again?

Come on, Met Éireann, give us some good news.

WELL, THAT RETURN to the summer yesterday was nice while it lasted.

Temperatures in some parts of the country reached as high as 24 degrees after weeks of below-average temperatures.

It was all too much for some…

Sadly we’re unlikely to see those conditions quite like that in the near future.

Met Éireann is forecasting temperatures of between 14 to 19 degrees today, and breaks it to us easy by describing the day as “cooler and fresher than yesterday”.

There will be a few spots of drizzle this dull morning before sunny spells break through. Showers are expected along the western coast.

And the weekend? Ah look, it could be worse.

Saturday will be “a cool, bright day, with sunny spells” with temperatures pushing 17 degrees at a stretch. It could reach 19 degrees on Sunday but this forecast comes with the warning of a few scattered showers.

The dry weather with little rain is expected to continue well into next week – plenty of grand drying – with temperatures potentially inching up again into the twenties.

Say a quick prayer to be on the safe side.

While we might wish we had a better summer, temperatures in some parts of eastern and central Europe are pushing dangerous highs.

It could reach close to 40 degrees in some areas today.
