Teen "killed parents, then held house party"

A teenager is accused of murdering his two parents with a hammer before locking their bodies in a bedroom and then holding a house party.

A TEENAGER IS accused of murdering his parents and then holding a house party while their bodies lay locked in an upstairs bedroom.

Florida native, 17-year-old Tyler Hadley, has been accused of posting an invite on Facebook for a house party before bludgeoning both his parents to death with a hammer.

Their bodies were discovered by police early Sunday and Hadley, of Port St Lucie, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Investigators believe his parents, Blake and Mary-Jo Hadley, were attacked outside their master bedroom with a hammer, and then moved into the bedroom and the door locked.

The teen was held without bond at a juvenile detention centre.

It is thought as many as 60 people attended a party on Saturday at the Hadley family home, and made so much noise they drew a noise complaint and a visit from police officers.

Following their visit, police received a tip that a murder may have taken place, and so they returned to the house at 4.20am.

The found the bodies covered with towels, files, books and other household items, and the hammer between them.

Police said they did not know what the motive for the double-murder was.
