Run, run as fast as you can…

IT ISN’T ALWAYS easy to find an event that will please all members of the family, but a trip to the theatre is sure to do just that. 

Whether you’re looking to rediscover a classic or be entertained by a new production, we’ve rounded up six shows around the country over the coming weeks that are sure to leave everyone smiling… 

CLARE

The Addams Family: In an adaptation by Ennis Musical Society, one of the world’s most famous fictional families is put to the test when Wednesday Addams brings home an unexpected boyfriend.

DUBLIN

Peat: A brand new theatre show, Peat is a story of “friendship, loss and finding our place in the world” that even older members of the family might learn a lesson from.

Roald Dahl’s The Twits: A classic tale that never loses its entertainment value, Mill Productions will be performing The Twits over two dates in June.

When: 13-23 June at 2pm and 4pm. Where: dlr Mill Theatre, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16. Costs: adult, €16; child under 12 years, €14. Find out more information here.

The Gruffalo: A musical adaptation of the classic picture book, The Gruffalo Live on Stage will bring songs and laughs for parents and children alike.

Suits: 3 years +. When: 19-23 June. Where: Pavilion Theatre, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire. Costs: adult, €15; child, €13. Find out more information here.

Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom: From the creators of Peppa Pig, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom returns to Ireland for the ten-year anniversary of the popular animated TV series.

WEXFORD

The Gingerbread Man: Puppeteer Miriam Lambert recreates this age-old tale at the National Opera House. It’s only on for two days, though, so run, run as fast as you can…
