WITH OPEN PLAN living areas, balconies for dining al fresco and, in many cases, the option to live close to a city centre, it’s easy to understand the appeal of apartment living.
This week, we’re looking at three-bed apartments around the country – from a penthouse in Dublin 1 to a luxurious property in Cork city.
Located in the high-end apartment block of the same name, 19 The Sherkin is a three-bed apartment with a light-filled interior thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows in the bedrooms, kitchen and living area. There are multiple high-quality features throughout the property, including a new sound system, semi-solid walnut flooring and a 75″ TV with a custom marble surround.
The kitchen is fitted with charcoal grey cabinets and silestone worktops, while doors open to a 70ft-long west-facing balcony with a small putting green. There’s also a smaller east-facing balcony. Each of the three bedrooms features built-in wardrobes, with a luxurious en suite bathroom extending from the master bedroom. The apartment is just a 10-minute stroll from Cork city centre and UCC, with an abundance of amenities in close proximity to choose from.
Located in the heart of Ashbourne town centre, 37 The Crescent is a luxurious three-bed penthouse. While living in an apartment often means having access to a smaller outdoor space, No 37 boasts two private sun terraces – one east-facing and one south-west facing.
The property spans 1,130 sq ft, including a sleek kitchen with navy cabinets and a spacious living area. Each of the three double bedrooms enjoys access to a sun terrace, while the master bedroom features an en suite bathroom. There’s a designated parking space underground, but with such a central location, using a car everyday might not be necessary.
Part of a gated development, 66 Church Avenue is a modern three-bed penthouse with high-quality furnishings. There are hardwood floors in the living area, kitchen and hallway, the kitchen is newly fitted and the family bathroom was refurbished in 2017. Double doors in the living area open to a balcony, while there’s access to a smaller balcony from the kitchen.
There are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, which is currently used as an office, with built-in wardrobes in each. The development features communal landscaped gardens, with mature trees and hedges adding a sense of privacy. Delgany village is a 20-minute walk away, while Greystones and its beautiful marina is a 10-minute drive away.
If a city centre location is top of your list while apartment-hunting, 5 Valentia House will tick many boxes. It’s a short stroll from Connolly Station, Grand Canal Dock and O’Connell St, while Grafton St is furthest away at a 20-minute walk. As well as having a central location, the penthouse-level apartment has a south-facing balcony which can be accessed from the master bedroom and the kitchen and living area.
In the kitchen, there are marble counter tops and a dining area to seat at least six, while floor-to-ceiling windows in the living area flood the space with light. Two of the three bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms, with stylish wall and floor tiling in both as well as the family bathroom.
