VIDEO: Your weekend movies... Alan Partridge and the Lone Ranger

Cinema trip this weekend? brings you snippets from new releases to help you decide where to put your money…

WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend?

We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.

Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa

For fans of: Alan, Norwich, radio

Avoid if:You have no sense of humour

Toblerone-scoffing Alan is back for a spin-off film (you’ve seen his TV show, right?) that looks at what happens when North Norfolk Digital, the radio station he works for, is taken over by a multinational conglomerate. Our own Colm Meaney plays Partridge’s very unhappy colleague Pat Farrell, who takes the station hostage, and Alan is the man charged with sorting things out.

Grown Ups 2

For fans of: Puerile comedy

Avoid if: Avoid

Ah, here.

The Lone Ranger

For fans of: The old west, Tonto

Avoid if: You prefer pirates

This Jerry Bruckheimer film stars Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger, and Johnny Depp as Tonto. The film was cancelled at one point, and perhaps that boded badly for it, because the reviews have been less than stellar. What do you think of the trailer?
