Delays expected as services through Clonsilla resume after horses removed from line

Irish Rail said delays of up to 46 minutes are expected.

IRISH RAIL HAS said that services through Clonsilla have resumed after they were temporarily suspended due to horses on the line.

The train operator said delays of up to 46 minutes are expected, though they are expected to ease “as we regulate services back to schedule”.

Services were disrupted from around 7am due to the animals, who were between Clonsilla Junction and Hansfield in Dublin.

Maynooth/Sligo/M3 Parkway line services were suspended, with Dublin Bus honouring valid rail tickets as a result.

Irish Rail said staff removed the horses from the line shortly before 8am.

The operator said the 08:03 Connolly/Maynooth service has been cancelled due to knock-on delays and disruptions following the horses on the line.

They apologised to passengers for any inconvenience caused.
