BROADCASTER TV3 HAS announced a strong start to the year, with Keith Barry leading the charge in January.
The group increased their adult share of the Irish market by 3.6% overall in the TAM Ireland/Nielsen results for January.
TV3′s adult share was up 5% to 10.68%, the biggest increase recorded by any terrestrial channel in the country.
Other audiences also grew, with adults 15-34 up 8.4%, housekeepers with kids up 5.3% and men 15-34 up 11.1%.
This broadcaster puts the increase down to “a number of its hit shows” which include Keith Barry: Brain Hacker, The Cube, Off Their Rockers, The King of The Travellers and The National TV Awards.
Director of content Jeff Ford said that the company was aiming to continue turning out new Irish-made shows, including a new series of the Great Irish Bake Off and a revamped Vincent Browne Show.
“Our strategy to build audience share through quality home produced content is proving a big success with shows such as Keith Barry: Brain Hacker, which is filmed in TV3’s Sony HD Studio, driving huge audiences.”
