TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Orwell Shopping Centre in Templeogue last weekend.
Gardaí carried out searches in the West Dublin area this morning and subsequently recovered cash and arrested two men in their 40s.
The armed robbery occurred on Saturday, 7 April at about 4.50pm outside the small, local centre. Two males held up a Cash-in-Transit vehicle at the complex before making their escape in a car which was driven by a third person.
Investigating gardaí believe one of the men was armed with a handgun. The car was later found burnt out a short distance away.
The two men are being detained at Terenure and Rathmines Garda station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.
