A NATIONAL WEATHER warning is in place as dense fog settles across the county.
Met Éireann has issued an orange weather warning, saying that dense fog will settle in the midlands and east, but there are also reports of heavy fog in Waterford and Cork.
Motorists are being warned to slow down on affected roads and use their fog lights where necessary.
At Dublin Airport, a number of arrivals are delayed, but no departures are affected as yet.
Away from the fog, Met Éireann says that today will be cold with widespread frost, with some icy patches.
Temperatures will climb to highs of between nine and 13 degrees. Tonight will see heavy fog and temperatures dropping below freezing.
