I hope they reverse that €1500.00 or dismiss altogether – Drug addicts get away with lesser charges !

And solicitors get away with bigger charges!!! Think this has nothing to do with anyone caught up in the hell of addiction in all fairness.

I live in an apartment complex and I can see 4 dishes to the front all of which have been there for a few years and clearly visible from the main road.

What happened this old woman was wrong..

    But..

Rules are rules, its my understanding that she had been issued with two letters ordering the removal of the offending dish.

    Them letters were discarded.

Her age while tragic should not be taken into account.

Just my opinion, don’t leap on me.

Yes rules are rules – it’s just a pity that the old and vulnerable targets have to play by the rules, while certain sections of our society perpetually flaunt the laws, and get away scot free.

You mean like the rules the Moriarty tribunal ruled had been broken by Lowry and O Brien or the rules that Mc Namara broke while building those apartment blocks.
Never mind prosecution, they get more gravy train contracts.

you’re right eircodes, she had to make a contribution towards costs, and even that was disgusting. I’d say over her 90 yesrs she has more than contributed to her country, and then the council have the gaul to send someone to spy on an old lady and her house, ands even more disgusting is the €800 tab for the prosecuting lawyer. Disgraceful waste of money by beaurocratic wasters.

Age in the same way ignorance cannot be used as an excuse!
The lady was given a number of warnings and letters and surely if she had any issues with understanding these letters or orders she would or should have asked her family for help! No use her family turning up after the mess!

Correction. She wasn’t fined a cent. She was ordered to pay €1500 of the council’s fees. And the fees were over €2000.

I never listen to or watch the bullshitters in RTE.
    (Arts Riff-Raff.)
Yet RTE charges me for the crime of possessing a TV set.
“TV license” the Arts robbers call it.
