Irishman killed in Mozambique

Cork man William Deasy died following a serious assault.

AN IRISHMAN HAS died in Mozambique.

The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed to TheJournal.ie they are aware of the death of an Irish citizen in Mozambique, and they have offered all assistance to his family.

The man has been named as William Deasy. The DFA said its ambassador in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, is liaising with the deceased citizen’s employer.

Mr Deasy was the victim of a serious assault.

According to RTÉ, Mr Deasy, who was from Kilcully, Cork, did not die in an accident in his workplace. He worked for Irish company Kentz.
