Windowless planes are on the way and they're pretty slick

The walls are lined with high-tech interactive screens instead.

A COMPANY BASED in the UK has released a video that shows what it would be like to fly in the next generation of plane – a windowless aircraft.

Instead of windows, the walls are lined with interactive touch screens which display images from outside the plane as well as on board services.

The new design means the aircraft would be lighter and would consume less fuel, lowering its CO2 emissions as well as providing an entertaining voyage.

It is definitely an experience you’d have to get used to and perhaps is not the best idea for claustrophobic travellers. Jon Helliwell, company spokesperson has told The Mirror that these planes could be a reality in about ten years.

We are talking about it now because it matches the kind of development timelines that they have in the aerospace industry,” he said.
