A BELFAST BAR has paid tribute to a woman who was killed in a hit-and-run last week.

Raven Adams (24) originally from the Tipperary area, died after she was struck by a car in the York Street area of Belfast at around 2.40am on Thursday.

A 22-year-old man, who worked with Adams, was also seriously injured after being hit by the car.

The Thirsty Goat bar, where Adams and her colleague worked, said they were “deeply saddened” by her death.

“Her kindness, laughter, dedication and warm smile left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her,” the bar said in a post on social media.

“She will be greatly missed and we will cherish the memories shared together.

“At this incredibly difficult time, we extend our deepest condolences to Raven’s family, friends and loved ones. May she rest in peace.”

The bar also said: “We also want to send all our love, prayers and strength to our colleague Ethan, who remains in hospital following this terrible accident. Ethan, we’re all thinking of you and praying for your recovery.”

Francis Donaldson (22), of Cardigan Drive in Belfast, appeared in court on Friday to face several charges, including causing death by dangerous driving.

The court heard that during a police interview, he said he was the driver of the vehicle, was responsible for what happened, and was “having a mental health crisis”.

He also said that it was “never my intention to cause anyone harm except myself”.

Donaldson was denied bail.
