FOURTEEN WINDOWS WERE broken on a DART carriage today – the second such incident in two days.
An Irish Rail spokesperson told TheJournal.ie that a group of youths smashed the windows this evening of the 6.45pm DART from Howth to Bray.
The windows were smashed from the outside at Howth station.
The driver was alerted and took the train out of service at Howth Junction.
Gardaí and private security were called, but the youths had left the station by the time they arrived on the scene.
Passengers were transferred onto another train following the incident.
This is the second window-smashing incident on a DART train in two days.
The Irish Rail spokesperson said that there is CCTV on board the DART where the windows were smashed, as well as at Howth Junction station, and the company hopes to pass on images to the gardaí.
