Winners of €190m EuroMillions Jackpot revealed

The Suffolk couple said they “couldn’t believe it” when the realised they had the winning ticket.

THE BRITISH COUPLE who won last week’s massive EuroMillions jackpot have been revealed as Adrian and Gillian Bayford, from Suffolk.

The couple, who are in their 40s, won the UK’s second-largest lottery prize ever in last Friday’s draw – scooping £148,656,000 (€190 million).

The Bayfords, who have two young children, said they couldn’t believe it when they found out they had won, SkyNews reports.

As a joke, Mr Bayford said he convinced his wife that they had both forgotten to buy a ticket as they watched the draw. When he then went to check the numbers of the ticket he had bought, he went “a bit pale” according to Mrs Bayford.

“I checked the numbers on my phone, the TV, the internet – and we just looked at each other and giggled,” she said.

The couple said that they would give some of their winnings to family and friends who had “helped them in the good and bad times”.

Mrs Bayford said she planned to be careful not to let the win go to their heads, reports the BBC: “I’m Scottish, we’re known for being tight, I’ll still be hitting the sales”.
