A 70-YEAR-OLD WOMAN has died after being hit by a car on a Donegal road.
The woman, who was walking at Churchtown in Carndonagh, sustained serious head injuries when she was struck by the vehicle just before 6pm last night.
She was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry where she died shortly before midnight.
The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, was not injured.
Gardaí are carrying out a technical examination of the scene and the area is sealed off for investigation.
