4 of a kind: Modern, light-filled homes made with zinc materials

We’ve scoured the country for four homes made with this resistant material.

THE LONG-LASTING NATURE of zinc is just one reason why it’s a popular building material these days. It can last for up to one hundred years on roofs and walls making it a trustworthy choice. This week, we’ve scoured the country and have found four homes that use this fire resistant, insect proof, and a mould proof material.

Killeagh, Co Cork – €695,000

Just a short drive from the Cork towns of Midleton and Youghal, this home sitting on .46 acres of land is a spacious family home surrounded by landscaped gardens. It has a zinc parapet entrance around the porch area which gives it character right away. Inside the double vaulted hallway sets the tone of this house. Bespoke additions from the staircase to the Elke kitchen make it a high-end family home.

On the first floor, two of the four bedrooms are en suite while the other share a roomy family bathroom. The largest bedroom has a seating area, walk in wardrobe along with a huge bathroom.
