Shatter resigns

'Dear Enda....' Here is Alan Shatter's resignation letter

Shatter told the Taoiseach he’s leaving to help avoid controversy for the Government.

ALAN SHATTER SENT Taoiseach Enda Kenny a letter of resignation today outlining his reasons for leaving his position in Government.

In it, the former Minister for Justice says that he has not had time as yet to read the full 300 page report by Sean Guerin SC into the garda whistleblowers controversy, but has decided to resign to avoid controversy for the government.

Below is what he wrote to the Taoiseach:
