Gardaí appeal for driver to come forward after 12-year-old boy seriously injured in hit and run

The car has since been located.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for a driver to come forward after a boy was hit by a car in Cork on Wednesday night.

The 12-year-old was seriously injured in the incident and was taken to the Mercy University Hospital by ambulance.

The car left the scene but has since been located and is the subject of a Garda Forensic Examination.

It happened at about 9:15pm on Thomas Davis St in the Blackpool area of Cork city.

Gardaí at Mayfield are now appealing for further information.

They are appealing to the two female passengers and the male driver of the car to contact them at Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4558510, the Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
