One raider still on the run after gunpoint robbery at village shop

Two men armed with a hand gun and an iron bar went into the shop and threatened staff before leaving with cash.

A YOUNG MAN has been arrested after an armed robbery in Kildalkey, Meath yesterday evening.

At around 5:45pm, two men armed with a hand gun and an iron bar went into the shop and threatened staff before leaving with cash.

It’s understood they were driven from the scene in a waiting car. No shots were fired and none of the staff were physically injured during the incident.

During a follow up operation, a 24-year-old man was arrested in Navan shortly after midnight and a car was seized.

The man is being held at Trim Garda Station. Gardaí say the investigation is ongoing.
