THE BODIES OF 150 African refugees fleeing the political turmoil in Libya have been discovered off the Tunisian coast according to a UN official.

The vessels carrying the refugees to Europe are reported by Reuters to have got into difficulties on Tuesday about 20 kilometres off the shores of Kerkannah as they headed for Italy. A UN High Commissioner says that search operations are continuing.
