One in custody and one released in €1m cash investigation

ONE MAN REMAINS in custody and another has been released without charge as gardaí investigate the seizure of  a large amount of cash in Co Limerick.

Yesterday, gardaí arrested two men after they seized in excess of €1m cash at Portcrusha, Co Limerick, on 14 December.

This morning, they said that a male aged in his 50s remains in garda custody at Henry St Garda Station following the seizure.

He is detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

A second male, who is in his 40s, has been released without charge.

The find at a property at Portcrusha near Castleconnell on Saturday afternoon was part of an ongoing investigation into organised crime in the county.
