MEMBERS OF THE Cork City Fire Brigade had to call for garda assistance yesterday after they came under attack by youths throwing stones while dealing with a fire in the north side of the city.

Gardaí said that they attended two fire incidents at about 10.15pm last night in the Kilmore road and Knocknaheeny area.

In a Facebook post, members of Cork Fire Brigade said they had come under attack from  youths throwing stones.

“An Garda Síochána assistance was requested and fire was extinguished, luckily no injuries to crew members or damage to appliances occurred,” the Fire Brigade said.
