A 17-YEAR-OLD BOY charged with the defilement of a 15-year-old girl will face a District Court trial on 25 July.
The boy is one of five teenagers aged between 16 and 18 years who have been accused of having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl at an address in Dublin in 2014.
Each of the teenage boys is charged with the defilement of a named female child under the age of 17 contrary to Section 3 (1) of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act, 2006.
At a hearing at Tallaght District Court this morning at which the boy was not in attendance, Judge Bridget Reilly set the date for the District Court trial at 25 July.
A pre-trial hearing will also be heard on 20 June.
Counsel for the accused said that discovery documents they had requested had been transmitted by gardaí.
A previous hearing had heard that case documents include 14,500 Facebook pages, including a significant number of messages.
Another 17-year-old boy will also face a separate trial at the District Court.
The three other boys appeared in court last week when their trial date was set for 6 December in the Circuit Court.
It is alleged that, on the evening of 14 March 2014, the girl drank a bottle of vodka and that afterwards her friends brought her back to her home.
It is alleged that a house party then occurred at her house, during which each of the five males had sex with her.
