Detectives question man in his 80s in Jimmy Savile probe

The man from Berkshire, England was interviewed under caution on suspicion of sexual offences.

A MAN IN his 80s was interviewed yesterday by officers working on Operation Yewtree, an investigation set up to inquire into allegations made against television presenter, Jimmy Savile and others.

The man, who has not been named, is from Berkshire, England and was interviewed under caution on suspicion of sexual offences after attending south London police premises by appointment at midday yesterday.

He was interviewed by officers working on Operation Yewtree under the strand of the investigation they have termed ‘Others’ and left the police station shortly after 5pm.

Officers executed a search warrant at an address in Berkshire on Saturday 24 November.

There are around 450 potential victims of abuse by Savile and others with around 200 allegations of sexual assault recorded.
