Gardaí seek witnesses to death of man crushed by digger

The incident occurred shortly before midday yesterday.

GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING AN incident in north Dublin yesterday where a man was crushed to death by a digger have appealed for witnesses.

The 54-year-old died at a building site on Harbour Road in Skerries yesterday.

The victim is believed to have been caught between a digger and a wall at Skerries harbour.

The incident occurred shortly before midday yesterday, and gardaí have said that they are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at this time, or may have witnessed the incident.

The Health and Safety Authority said yesterday that an investigation will be conducted into the incident.

Witnesses are asked to contact either Balbriggan Garda Station on 01-8020510, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
