Garda dog unit helps to find nearly €250k worth of cannabis in Kildare

Two men were arrested and appeared before Naas District Court this morning.

THE GARDA DOG unit has helped to track down cannabis worth an estimated €230,000 during a search in Kildare.

Two men were arrested following a planned search of a house in Rathangan, Co Kildare at around 3pm yesterday afternoon.

With the assistance of the dog unit, gardaí discovered cannabis herb with an estimated street value well over €200,000.

The men, aged in their 30s and 20s, were taken to Newbridge Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996.

They appeared before Naas District Court this morning, charged in relation to the seizure.
