Drugs worth €4 million seized in Lucan

The cannabis resin was found after the search of a car in Ronanstown, west Dublin.

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have seized cannabis worth in excess of €4 million, after stopping a truck in the Ronanstown area yesterday afternoon.

The search took place just before 3pm yesterday.

A man driving the truck – who is in his 40s – was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Lucan Garda Station.

He is being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Road Trafficking) Act, and can be held for up to seven days.

The truck he was driving has also been seized for technical examination.

Gardaí said its investigations are ongoing and that further updates would be provided soon.
