Barney the dog sniffs out €20k hidden in luggage at Dublin Airport

The cash was concealed in items of clothing in the carry-on luggage of a man boarding a flight to Bratislava.

OFFICERS FROM REVENUE’S Customs Service at Dublin Airport on Monday seized €20,000 in cash when they stopped a non-national who was boarding a flight to Bratislava.

The detection was made by Revenue dog Barney, a three-year-old springer spaniel.

The cash was found concealed in items of clothing in his carry-on luggage and was seized by Revenue.

Today, at Dublin District Court, officers were granted a three month detention order, in respect of the cash, in order to carry out further investigations.
