Shop staff threatened with syringe in Dublin robbery

He fled the scene on foot with a small amount of cash and was arrested a short time later.

STAFF AT A service station in Dublin were threatened by a man with a syringe during a robbery last night.

The lone man then fled the scene on foot with a small amount of cash.

It happened on Old Belgard Road in Cookstown, Tallaght shortly before 8.30pm.

A 34-year-old man was arrested close to the scene a short time later and has been charged in connection with the robbery.

Gardaí also recovered an amount of cash.

The man is due to appear before Tallaght District Court this morning at 10.30am.

The scene was preserved for technical examination.
