Teenager dies after car overturns, three other occupants uninjured

Two males and a female, also in their late teens, were treated for shock at the scene.

A 17-YEAR-OLD HAS died after the car he was travelling in overturned earlier this afternoon.

Gardaí are investigating the incident, which occurred near Mallow in Cork.

The three other occupants, two females and a male, were treated for shock but were otherwise uninjured.

They are all in their late teens.

Lisgriffen Road at Drumdowney, close to 2km from Ashgrove Cross, remained closed this evening to facilitate a technical examination of the scene by gardaí.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on that road between 4pm and 4.20pm this afternoon to contact them in Mallow on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
