Three injured in crash between fire engine and car

They were taken to hospital but were not seriously injured.

GARDAÍ AT STORE Street are investigating a crash between a Dublin Fire Brigade truck and a car.

The incident occurred at 9.30pm at the Five Lamps on Amiens Street and it is understood that a turntable truck from Tara Street fire station was involved. It was en route to a fire in Clonliffe.

Three people were injured and taken by ambulance to the Mater Hospital. A garda spokesperson said they were not seriously injured but were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

A source told TheJournal.ie that the BMW involved in the crash was “written off”.

A Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson could not give details of damage done to the fire engine but it is understood that the truck is off the road today. They said there will be an internal investigation as well as the garda investigation into the incident.
