MORE THAN 25,000 people marched through Dublin city this afternoon for the city’s pride parade.
The Dublin LGBTQ group says that 100,000 more people joined the crowds to watch the parade as it traveled from Parnell Square to the Civic Offices on Wood Quay.
Senator David Norris was among the speakers at the post-parade party, where he told those gathered that “pride is something that we all earn. The Irish gay community has earned the right to be proud”.
Crystal Swing and former Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh performed and Jo McNamara, Dublin LGBTQ Pride Festival Chairperson said that the event had been the most successful to date.
