A MAN HAS been arrested in the UK in connection with the murder of Gareth Hutch.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) in conjunction An Garda Síochána and the London Metropolitan Police this morning arrested a 31-year-old man in the Romford area of Essex in the UK on foot of a European Arrest warrant.

The arrest comes a day after a 39-year-old woman was charged with the murder in Dublin last year.

Father-of-one Gareth Hutch (35), a nephew of Gerry “the Monk” Hutch, was gunned down outside Avondale House flats, where he lived, on North Cumberland Street.

Two men approached him in the car park of the complex as he was entering his car.

A number of shots were fired and the men attempted to leave the scene in a BMW but soon after got out and made their escape on foot.

A man has previously been charged with the murder.
