The drugs problem is not just about supply. We also should cut demand too and get the junkies to stop taking it and to stop people from trying it in the first place.
I think when people first go into jail, they should go into solitary confinement for the first 7 days without access to methadone or benzodiazepines or sedatives. It would be cruel but kind in long run. We need to break to cycle of addiction. Addicts need to know that they can go cold turkey. It is possible. Jail should be about rehabilitation as well as punishment.

I have been to court for drugs. A quarter of soap I got stupidly caught with at oxegen. The cops have wild stories about weights and quantities even to the judge. One guy had a half ounce. this was equal to 90 hand rolled cannabis cigarettes and another girl with an ounce that was equal o 160 hand rolled cannabis cigarettes. How does that math add up. What formula did they use to come up with this number? and does the amount the cop smoke get taken off the quantity. The system needs to show how it deduces these facts.
