A BLAZE WHICH ripped through a historic church in Dublin city centre on Monday caused extensive damage and left much of the interior gutted.
Photographs taken this afternoon by Photocall’s Sasko Lazarov show the extent of the damage to St Catherine’s, a Roman Catholic church on Meath Street in Dublin’s south inner city.
The church was set on fire deliberately on Monday afternoon. A man has appeared before Dublin District Court charged in connection with the fire.
Speaking earlier today, Fr Niall Coghlan, the parish priest of the church, said that it could be a long time before the church is fully repaired.
