IRISH IS THE world’s third-favourite accent in a potential partner.
However, the Irish is way, way behind the “British” accent. The Time Out Dating Survey shows that 8.1% of 11,000 respondents around the world said that the Irish accent was most likely to woo them.
The “British” accent, whatever that is, was the runaway winner, though, with 27% of the vote. The American accent garnered 8.7% of the vote to take second.
While the Irish accent is considered sexy, it’s unlikely any of these guys would make the list:
The Australian, French, Italian, Spanish, Scottish, Latin American and Scandinavian accents filled out the top 10.
Parisians were the denizens most happy with their dating scene, beating Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur.
New Yorkers are the most “sad to be single” respondents, with women in New York describing dating in the Big Apple as a “warzone”.
And you’d want to make a good first impression: most people will decide within two to three minutes if they want a second date in London, Chicago and LA and 73% of people have researched their dates online beforehand.
