"Large amount" of cash stolen in Monaghan robbery

Nobody was injured and no weapons used as two men broke into a bank in the town.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information after two men stole a substantial amount of cash from a bank in Monaghan.

At around 5pm yesterday, two men, not better described, used a small white van to gain access to a bank on the Dublin Road in Castleblayney.

One of the men then entered the building and took a large amount of cash.

The two then left the scene in the white van, in the direction of Carrickmacross.

No weapons were used and no persons were injured during this incident.

Investigating Gardaí are appealing for information and in particular any sightings of a small white coloured van with two men onboard in the vicinity of Castleblayney/Carrickmacross/Cullaville prior to or after 5pm yesterday.
